It is not merely a stay; it’s an experience embellished by exquisite luxury and whispering tales of transit transformed.
Room was also dated and not particularly clean
At 7:00 AM, a housekeeping staff member entered her room without any prior notice or consent, while she was alone inside. The explanation given was a “technical glitch” that marked the room as departed. No occupancy check was performed before entry. To make matters worse, Room 732 has no internal security latch, meaning there was no way for her to prevent unauthorised access.
The front desk took over 30 minutes to respond, and only after she called the emergency line did a manager get in touch.
On top of this, the room assigned did not match the booking. I had reserved a 1 King Standard Jewel Wing High Floor — she was given a standard 1 King Standard room, with no notification or explanation at check-in. When challenged, the hotel claimed that the room assigned was “larger, more spacious, and more valuable” than the booked Jewel Wing room. This is directly contradicted by the IHG app’s own listings, which show the 1 King Standard Jewel Wing High Floor at a higher price point than the standard 1 King Standard room.
The hotel’s compensation offer was Club Lounge access on a future visit — not practical, and not proportionate to what happened.
To their credit, IHG corporate responded promptly and processed a full points refund. The hotel-level response, however, was slow, defensive, and fell well short of what the situation warranted.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone travelling alone.
A special thank you goes to John at the reception, who handled a challenging situation with remarkable professionalism, calmness, and genuine care. He listened attentively to our concerns and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs in a thoughtful and solution-oriented manner. His composed and friendly approach made all the difference and turned a potentially stressful moment into a very positive experience.
This level of service is exactly what you hope for in a top-tier hotel. The property itself is modern, comfortable, and perfectly located for travelers, but it’s people like John who truly elevate the experience.
We will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Singapore.

The rooms are a tad too small for me and the noise insulation is not so good. The door slamming due to the dampers not working/working too well on the doors all through out the night wakes you up and is wall shaking.
The A/C in the rooms are either underpowered or are limited it's thermostat as the room temp as borderline uncomfortable even as I adjusted the thermostat to the lowest setting.
One thing that the room excelled was the Bed was very comfortable.
Note I have stayed here on three separate occasions and the experience were all as above.
Cannot beat the location though and it is fun hanging out at the spectacular Jewel.

We used the hotel for a 10h stopover and was the best thing we could do, in betweenvery long flights. Rooms were spacious and super clean, with all essentials, like dental kit, slippers, etc. Our meals were also nice and substantial. Courteous customer service from check in, to check out. Shout out to the staff on duty that day (see pic).
Easy to reach within the terminal. Next time would consider using the outdoor pool, which looked large and well serviced.
As many others agree, the downside is probably price, however you are accessing a convenient and clean rest option without the need to exit from the airport.

Unfortunately I could hear people’s alarms going off throughout the night as they left. It is also important to note the pool and gym hours are 10pm to 10am so if you’re looking to visit them, be sure your timeline works.

Factors to Consider When Choosing Your Singapore Airport Hotel
While planning your stay at one of the transit hotels in Singapore Changi Airport, remember that your checked-in luggage will not be accessible if you’re in the transit area. All checked-in luggage can be collected only after clearing immigration outside the transit area. Be sure to pack the necessary items or essentials you might need during your stay in your carry-on luggage. It’s a small yet crucial detail to note as you coordinate your travel plans for a smooth journey.
Opting for a transit stay in an airport hotel can turn your layover into an enjoyable and relaxing part of your travel journey. But with several exceptional choices at Singapore Changi Airport, how do you select the one that’s perfect for you? Here are some key factors to consider:
- Layover Duration: The length of your stopover should be your primary deciding factor. If you have a short layover of a few hours, a hotel that allows hourly bookings, like the Aerotel or Yotelair, would be more suitable.
- Budget Considerations: While all airport hotels aim to provide convenience and comfort, the costs can vary. Look at what each hotel includes in its rates and align this with your budget.
- Essential Amenities: Every traveler’s needs are unique, so consider what amenities are must-haves for you. Are you looking for a quick workout at the gym, a few laps in a pool, or some rejuvenating spa treatments between flights?
- Room Types: Assess your room requirements. Is it a single room for solo travel, a family suite for a group, or an attractive ensuite for a couple?
Considering your unique needs and preferences with these factors, you’re sure to find a Singapore Airport Hotel that will turn your layover into an experience to remember.
