Budget Travelers, Backpackers

Singapore will not be your first destination if you’re on a tight budget. The city is one of the most expensive in Southeast Asia.
For travelers on a budget, I would not recommend visiting Singapore as it is an expensive metropolis. Though you can find cheaper alternatives to your air tickets and hotels, the food and daily expenses will still be quite costly.
This is because Singapore is costly, and many activities and attractions require an admission fee.
I recommend visiting other Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. These countries offer a much cheaper cost of living, and you can find more affordable accommodations and meals.
However, there are still ways to enjoy Singapore on a budget. There are many free attractions, such as the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Orchard Road.
You can also take advantage of the city’s excellent public transportation system. The food at hawker centers is affordable and saves money.
* Note that even though Singapore is expensive, it is still a top-rated destination. If you plan to visit during the peak season (June to August), be sure to book your tickets and accommodation in advance as prices will be even higher then.
